Dedicated reporter and mom, Melissa Wilson of FOX 26, shared a really touching story with her fans today. Her son, Caleb, who has bravely battled cancer now for several years, had a very exciting opportunity during the Super Bowl here in Houston. He’s also received some even more exciting news!

caleb-wilsonCaleb appeared on national television during the pre-game show on Sunday. He appeared in a moving ad alongside Houston Texans Defensive End, Devon Still, and his adorable daughter Leah, who is also a cancer survivor.

Leah’s amazing story of beating a Stage-4 Neuroblastoma has helped raise a lot of awareness about childhood cancer. Her loving daddy, Devon, is obviously overflowing with pride for his beautiful little girl. Together, he and Leah visit cancer patients at Texas Children’s Hospital to encourage the kids and their families.

“I have cherished the excitement of our local Super Bowl coverage this week, but my son Caleb is one-upping me!” said Melissa on Facebook. “He’ll make national news during the Pre-Game today with Houston Texan Devon Still and his cancer-fighting daughter, Leah. Thanks for the special opportunity NFL and Texas Children’s Cancer Center! They are STRONG KIDS!”

In even more wonderful news, Melissa shared that Caleb has now tested negative for cancer after 56 days with no chemo.

“Great results today, after no chemo for 56 days … but who’s counting?!” said Melissa. “What a blessing it was to take Caleb to the NFL experience and so many of you introduced yourselves and told him about your prayers. That’s beyond empowering for a child to realize you have impacted his life. THANK YOU. GOD BLESS YOU!”
